KLF Spotlight:
It's never too late to get an education!

In 2009, KLF and the Adult Education Unit of St. Vincent & the Grenadines, launched an initiative to encourage male elementary & high school dropouts to go back to school. Two years later we honor 17 who successfully took up our challenge.

Unfortunately there is a stigma around adult education in St. Vincent & the Grenadines, associating all attendees with illiteracy and ignorance. KLF recognized the harmful consequences of such thinking and set out to change this negative perception by creating an incentive program to entice males back into the classroom.

KLF's Adonal Foyle is an exemplary role model for continuing education having sought out a Masters degree in Sports Psychology while playing in the NBA. It's never too late to learn, and there are many reasons that push people back into the classroom, from wanting to improve reading skills to becoming more qualified for a promotion at work. One honoree, Trevor Wilson, decided to go back to school so he could help his kids with their homework.

On December 2nd, 2011, KLF recognized seventeen males ranging in age from 19 to 64 who enrolled in continuing education courses and successfully passed their Form 3 (Grade 9) exams. Honorees received a trophy naming them "Adonal Foyle's All Star Achievers" and a small monetary award. Thanks to Youth Basketball of America for donating ESPN's commemorative issue on Michael Jordan.
