Adonal Foyle's Kerosene Lamp Foundation (KLF) launches Express Yourself Art & Essay Competition in St. Vincent and the Grenadines

Oakland, CA, June 16, 2008 --- Adonal Foyle's Kerosene Lamp Foundation (KLF) is proud to announce the launch of their first art/essay competition in Adonal's home country of St. Vincent and the Grenadines. The Express Yourself Art and Essay Competition is for students in Grades 1-6 and Forms 1-5.Entrants are asked to write about the importance of health, education and HIV/AIDS awareness on the islands. Prizes include computers, school book scholarships, autographed merchandise and basketballs. The competition is also sponsored by Karib Cable.

Since 2003, Adonal has shared his knowledge with children in St. Vincent and the Grenadines through his basketball camps. "KLF has always used basketball as a lever to talk to kids about significant issues such as education, HIV and AIDS, good nutrition and just the importance of being kids," Adonal said. "The art and essay contest gives youth in St. Vincent and the Grenadines a voice to tell us what they have learned about sports, nutrition and HIV/AIDS and, more importantly, express their opinions on these serious topics."

The competition will be held from June 16 until July 21. Check with local schools and newspapers for competition details or visit one of the following locations:

Bequia: Frangipani Hotel
