Kerosene Lamp Foundation announced Selisha Hazell as our newest All-Star Student-Athlete during the awards ceremony of the 2011 Athletics & Academics Camp - All-Star edition at the Arnos Vale Sports Complex.
Selisha is 13 years old going on 14 and hails from Bequia in St. Vincent & the Grenadines. She will start Form 3 in September 2011 which is equivalent to Grade 8 in the American educational system. Her parents are extremely proud of Selisha's acceptance into our All-Star Student-Athlete program. According to Selisha's journal entry, "...my mom and dad was screaming like I'm so proud of my daughter."
Selisha showed a wonderful attitude during the camps - both on and off the courts, showing a true love for learning. KLF coaches were also impressed with her talent - so much so that they moved her over to the oldest group of kids for basketball training.
After she was selected for our mentorship program, we invited Selisha to join the rest of our All-Stars in Canouan to assist us with our day camp there and then engage in some intense mentoring sessions and basketball sessions. We were extremely proud of her for jumping right in from assisting us with setting up the camp to showing no fear in taking on the boys on the court.
Help us enroll more kids into our All-Star Student-Athlete Program!
